Search Tips

 

To search for a business, simply type in the name of the business or the business category you are looking for. Using an exact proper name of the business should return an index of the categories that the business is currently listed in.

 

Example:

Searching for "Salmon Real Estate" or simply "Real Estate" would bring up a variety of listings in Businesses, Classifieds, and Coupons, along with an indication of which subcategories this listing would appear in. You are then presented with the option of which listing category you would like to view.

 

 

You have the option to specifically target your search based on Business Name, Category, and Location. You can narrow your search criteria by searching in a specific category by selecting the category in which you would like to search from the dropdown menu listed below the search field. Further narrowing your search criteria by Country, State, and City.

 

You can also instantly narrow your search result to a given ZIP code by toggling over to the ZIP code search window and typing in your search term, selecting a category, and limiting your search to a specific zip code which will then allow you to further narrow the search to a proximity of miles from that search. (I.E. searching for "Real Estate", using the specific ZIP code "10312" and narrowing the search results within 1 mile of that ZIP code will return listings within 1 MILE of the ZIP code 10312.

 

We recommend narrowing your search using the ZIP code proximity tool to quickly find a listing in a specific area. This will allow you to quickly view listings pertaining to a specific category while limiting the results within the proximity of your local area.

 

If you are trying to find a restaurant listing for Chinese Food, try typing in a loose search term like "Chinese" and narrowing the search proximity within only 2 miles of your own ZIP code. Chances are much greater that you will find a listing much quicker.

 

Featured listings will appear at the top of the directory. With "Showcase" level listings appearing at the very top of the directory in a specific category. "Showcase" level listings display much more detail, as well as a photo gallery, video, menus, etc. "Basic" level listings will contain basic contact information about a business. Both level listings give visitors a chance to rate and review a listing.

 

 

If your business is listed in BetterBizList.com and you would like to claim ownership of that listing so that you can administer it's content or upgrade that listing to a "Showcase" level, simply click the "Is This Your Business?" tab directly next to the listing.

 

You will then be presented with the opportunity to claim that listing and upgrade the listing level. You can upgrade the listing by selecting the package level you desire and pay directly on our website with your credit card. We will authenticate all listing claims before you are allowed access to administer that listing.
